Heather Roby

Program manager - exercise and nutrition

Heather joined the research team as a research assistant in 2008. In this role, she was responsible for writing ethics applications, recruiting participants, assisting with visits, maintaining databases, and performing sample processing for a number of studies.

In 2011, Heather became actively involved in the Australian co-ordination team for the Adolescent Type 1 Diabetes Cardio-Renal Intervention Trial (AdDIT), an international drug trial. As a CRA, Heather was involved in all stages of clinical trials including developing essential documents, initiating sites, monitoring and closing out sites.

Heather is now the project manager for the exercise and nutrition teams, supporting the teams to conduct research to reduce hypoglycaemia and glucose excursions caused by exercise and food in young people with type 1 diabetes.
