Congratulations to Dr Sarah Black and Leanne Cromb, who have been named the inaugural recipients of the Rio Tinto Children’s Diabetes Centre; a JDRF Global Centre of Excellence, Funding and Capacity building grants.
The grants are made possible through funding support by Rio Tinto, Telethon Trust and JDRF, and are intended to support career development through training opportunities.
Dr Sarah Black, a paediatric endocrine fellow at PCH and researcher at the Children’s Diabetes Centre, received support to undertake the Virtual Quality Improvement Lead Training Program.
“This course will help in my role leading the implementation of the Supporting Families with Early-Stage Diabetes project at PCH this year”, Dr Black said.
Leanne Cromb, Community Involvement Co-ordinator at the Children’s Diabetes Centre, received a grant to undertake the International Association for Public Participation Australasia, Certificate of Engagement course.
“The internationally recognised course for community engagement professionals will provide additional skills and knowledge that will benefit the Centre’s researchers in keeping the community at the heart of their projects.” Leanne Cromb said.
