The Rio Tinto Children's Diabetes Centre; a JDRF Global Centre of Excellence is excited to offer Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) researchers and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students affiliated with the Global CoE, the opportunity to apply for funding support for training or capacity building related activities.

Capacity building grants are made possible through funding support by Rio Tinto, Telethon Trust and JDRF, and are intended to support the applicant's career development and the Global CoE's objective to improve the lives of all young people living with T1D.

There are two types of capacity building grants available: top-up and safety net funding.

Capacity Building funding can be used toward activities including:

  • Technical courses and training
  • On the job training at other research organisations
  • Invitation to give a lecture or oral presentation at a conference

HDR students receiving a Global CoE Scholarship are eligible to apply for funds to attend conferences for the duration of their scholarship.

Eligible applicants can apply for up to $5,000 of funding for a single activity.

Applications close 31st October, 2024. Find out more and apply for grants in the links below.
