PCH Diabetes Service Update
We have now returned to face-to-face care as we move past the peak of infections in the WA community.
We know many families will not have had an in-person visit in many months. Face to face care ensures we can help you monitor growth accurately, ensure HbA1c measurements are up to date and that we can help with monitoring insulin injection sites and other important parts of the physical examination.
Telehealth is still available where required, and going forward we will be incorporating Telehealth to provide extra structured support for many families to complement gold standard face to face care, but for now we have returned to usual outpatient care in person as the best method for supporting families caring for youth with diabetes.
There will be some relaxation of hospital procedures for family members accompanying youth to their clinic appointments, and we will have increased ability to provide group sessions.
