What support do families with early-stage T1D need?
Screening for the risk of developing T1D is now an option. But as exciting as screening is, we still don’t know what families need or how our team can support families to navigate results of screening and what the next steps might be for them?
The Rio Tinto Children’s Diabetes Centre, a JDRF Global Centre of Excellence at The Kids Research Institute Australia, has been awarded funding to learn from these families and involve their view and feedback, so that we can develop support for families whose child is identified as having early-stage T1D that meets their needs.
If you are wanting to or have participated in screening for T1D, have a child who has recently been diagnosed with T1D, or have T1D in the family, we would like to hear from you. Your views and experiences will be the foundation for developing fit-for-purpose supports and resources for families whose child is living with early-stage T1D. Please join us online to discuss how to co-design a pathway to ensure everyone’s needs are met.
