Honours and PhD scholarships awarded!
The Rio Tinto Children’s Diabetes Centre; a JDRF Global Centre of Excellence (the Centre), announces 2023 Round 2, Honours and PhD scholarships for students dedicated to type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
The recipients of the Centre’s second round of Honours and PhD top-up scholarships have been awarded to three emerging students from Australia, New Zealand and the Unites States of America.
These scholarships, consisting of a $5000 award for Honours and $15,000 for PhD top ups, are designed to develop and support their T1D related research.
Congratulations goes to:
Aakash Annadurai an Honours student at the University of New South Wales, Australia for his Honours project 'Characterising the population of all viruses that influence risk of islet autoimmunity using antiviral antibody profiling'. Aakash will be supervised by Dr Ki Wook Kim.
and
Jee Choe, a PhD student at the University of Southern California, USA, for her PhD project 'The broad health, social, and economic burden of Type 1 Diabetes: A Value Framework.' Jee will be supervised by Prof Maddalena Ferranna.
Niamh Jennings, a PhD student at the University of Otago, New Zealand, for her PhD project 'Quality Improvement Project for Young People with Diabetes throughout New Zealand'. Niamh will be supervised by Assoc Prof Martin de Bock.
