Congratulations to The University of Western Australia and The Kids Research Institute Australia Children's Diabetes Centre researcher Dr Vinutha Shetty who is the 2017 recipient of the Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Network’s (T1DCRN) Mentored Clinician Researcher Fellowship Award.
Dr Shetty will undertake clinical research to developing new exercise guidelines for people with Type 1 Diabetes. She will study carbohydrate requirements for different exercise types, effects of hyperglycaemia in exercise performance, use of Continuous Glucose Monitors and exercise, and the role of sprinting in hypoglycaemia prevention.
The T1DCRN is led by JDRF Australia and is funded through a special research initiative of the Australian Research Council.
