Celebrating a huge milestone!
The Diabetes in Schools team at the Perth Children’s Hospital have just reached a huge milestone – 1000 school visits!
The Diabetes in Schools Program is the only nationally recognised training program, designed to help families and schools to better support students with type 1 diabetes whilst at school.
PCH was the first hospital in Australia to deliver this pivotal training. The team of diabetes educators have been busy providing practical face to face training and is the first team to reach 1000 school visits
“These free training sessions are available for school-aged children with type 1 diabetes and are delivered by the clinical team at PCH. We visit metro and regional schools and arrange video conferencing with those we can’t attend,” Adele Connor said.
