Diabetes Service wins major award

Perth Children’s Hospital’s Diabetes Service has been named a Centre of Excellence (COE) and Tertiary Level Diabetes Service with the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC).

Perth Children’s Hospital’s Diabetes Service has been named a Centre of Excellence (COE) and Tertiary Level Diabetes Service with the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC).

The service was the only paediatric diabetes service to receive a COE by the NADC, an organisation that sets the standard of diabetes care in Australia.

“On review of your evidence, the committee wishes to acknowledge your organisation’s significant work and contribution in the following key areas: Influence nationally and internationally; leaders in diabetes technology; diabetes research (and) evidence-based models of care,” Dr Elaine Pretorius, Chair of the NADC accreditation committee, said.

Professor Liz Davis, head of PCH’s Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes, said the award was fantastic recognition of the clinical and research teams' work.

The COE Award is for a period of four years.

Congratulations team!
