Despite the unseasonal weather, good turnouts were recorded for recent events organised by PMH and Diabetes WA.

More than 50 people attended the Diabetes and Research Information night, which featured research updates as well as keynote presentations by Paediatric Endocrinologist Dr Martin De Bock and DiAthlete founder and ultra-marathon runner Gavin Griffiths, who has Type 1 Diabetes.

Gavin also hosted a fun sports clinic a few days later, where he showed kids how living with Type 1 Diabetes has been no barrier to him achieving everything he sets out to do, including running 30 marathons in 30 days.

The sports clinic was a great way to provide education on diabetes and its management through novel team games involving Gavin, the diabetes team and children and their families.
