New Study: Sports coaches resources

Our type 1 diabetes community has said that one of the biggest challenges for young people participating in sport is that coaches do not know about or understand diabetes.

RECRUITS NEEDED: kids playing sports

Our type 1 diabetes community has said that one of the biggest challenges for young people participating in sport is that coaches do not know about or understand diabetes.

We are hoping to develop a set of type 1 diabetes specific educational resources for sports coaches and we would love your help to create them.

Who can participate?

We are looking for:

  • Young people with type 1 diabetes aged 8-21 years
  • Who have had type 1 diabetes for a minimum of 1 year
  • Participate in community sport

Or,

  • Parents of children who meet the criteria above

And,

  • Sports coaches

What does it involve?

We will be conducting online interviews to find out your experiences with sports coaches and diabetes. Interviews will be about one hour in length and will be online using Zoom.

You will not need to attend Perth Children’s Hospital for any visits.
