Omnipod DASH is in Australia
You may have heard that Insulet has released the Omnipod DASH system in Australia. The DASH consists of a tubeless “pod” pump which pairs with a touchscreen Bluetooth® enabled controller.
The Omnipod DASH has generated a lot of interest in our clinic due to the unique nature of a tubeless device.
Unfortunately, at this point in time, the Omnipod DASH does not have a prosthesis code and therefore cannot be covered through private health insurance. This means that consumers can only access the Omnipod DASH through a “pay as you pod” system on an ongoing basis. The cost equates to roughly $400/monthly.
