The diabetes service provides an on-call service for families. If you have an urgent matter regarding the medical care of your child with diabetes you are encouraged to call the on-call paging number which has a new number.
The new number is 08 6456 5993.
When you call this number it will be answered by a central health service clerical staff member.
You will be asked to provide some details on the nature of your concerns as well as your child’s name and date of birth. This information will then be forwarded to the doctor on call who will call you back. If this does not occur within 30 minutes please call again and repeat the information.
Please be reminded that this service does not replace the need for emergency care where immediate attention is required via phoning triple zero (000) or presentation to your local emergency department.
Our families who have been in our care for some time may have record books or clinic information sheets featuring the former on-call number which will no longer be functional. At your next clinic, new record books will be distributed with updated contact details.
During office hours the diabetes triage line should continue to be your first contact.
