The team at the Rio Tinto Children's Diabetes Centre in Perth had a fantastic time hosting the Centre of Excellence 2025 Research Symposium at the University of Western Australia.
More than 100 delegates including community members, national and international researchers, clinicians, data experts and health care workers attended the two day conference.
From a community panel on research priorities, to model of care presentations, research spotlights and a health economics workshop, it was great to have lived experience front and centre.
There was also a focus on all things AI in Health and Research with discussions on the future directions in digital health and data driven care.
A big congratulations to Rigel Paciente who won the Capacity Building award at the symposium for their Rapid Presentation: ‘A qualitative investigation of paediatric medical traumatic stress in young people living with Type 1 Diabetes’.
