Teaching Kitchens

the Teaching Kitchens program will start again on Thursday March 9 from 5-7pm,  running for four weeks (every thursday evening).

Cooking sessions for youth with T1D

Following a successful 4-week pilot program last November, where staff from Perth Children's Hospital and The Kids Research Institute Australia cooked up a storm with adolescents living with type 1 diabetes, the Teaching Kitchens program is coming back in March.

Thanks to funding from the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Teaching Kitchens program will start again on Thursday March 9 from 5-7pm,  running for four weeks (every thursday evening).

The sessions combine nutrition education and practical cooking skills to connect peers and have fun. Participants will also be given tips on following a healthy balanced diet and mindful eating.

If you know any 13–17 year-olds in Perth living with type 1 diabetes who enjoy cooking or want to learn, email Rachel.lim2@health.wa.gov.au for more information.
