A record Perth crowd turned out for JDRF’s One Walk to raise much-needed funds for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research last month.
More than 2000 participants descended on Burswood Park for the 5km walk — a 30 percent increase on numbers from last year — including TV presenter Rob Palmer, who has T1D, and once again joined the walk to raise awareness about diabetes.
Also spotted in the crowd were Children’s Diabetes Centre team members who spread the word about the important research the Centre does to improve the lives of children and families living with T1D.
JDRF One Walk is the world's biggest T1D fundraising event. Each year, JDRF One Walks around the globe bring together about one million people to raise more than $85 million for life-changing T1D research. This year the Perth walk has raised $96,000 with funds still continuing to flow in.
