World Diabetes Day fundraisers across WA

Last month we celebrated World Diabetes Day and what a monumental day it was. This year's theme was 'Access to diabetes care' and the WA T1D community spread the message far and wide.

We are proud of the T1D community who helped raise awareness in schools all across WA, from Dakota at Nyaming Primary School to Genevieve and Will at Saint Joseph's School in Moora.

For Dakota who is a school leader, the cause is close to her heart. Her brother Lincoln is living with T1D, he was diagnosed in 2020.

Dakota organised the school fundraiser, which included information packs complete with 'diabetes awareness' wristbands. She also encouraged the whole school to join her in the GO BLUE event, wearing something blue to clebrate the day and raising $1,394 for JDRF Australia.

Thank you to Dakota and to all the T1D community who raised awareness.
