Maggie Dent – AKA the “queen of common sense” – is best known as a popular parenting author and educator. But what many people don’t know is that she’s also the mum of a son who lives with type 1 diabetes (T1D).
This year for our Rio Tinto Children’s Diabetes Centre 2024 Community Forum “Supporting Families”, we were fortunate to have Maggie as a guest speaker.
Maggie captivated the audience as she delivered practical advice to help parents build their teen’s resilience and cope with anxiety while living with T1D.
Our leading diabetes researchers also highlighted some of the research we are doing to support families living with T1D.
Parents and carers of kids and teens who live with T1D were invited to attend the event along with our supporters and special guests.
