DiabHQ update

It’s hard to believe that the DiabHQ app has been available to WA families living with T1D for over 6 months already! Since the launch in November, 2025, the DiabHQ team have been adding new features and making the app even better.

DiabHQ app has been rolled out!

The DiabHQ app has been rolled out across all clinics and is now being used by families across WA.  We’ve had such great feedback on the app, and how it’s helped families living with T1D. If you’ve signed up to DiabHQ, you would have received an email link with your login details, and we’re sending them out again ahead of your next appointment. If you’re not sure if you’ve consented, you can email us or ask your clinician!

The DiabHQ app – 6 months in

It’s hard to believe that the DiabHQ app has been available to WA families living with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) for over 6 months already! The innovative, digital platform, was launched on World Diabetes Day last November. Since then, the DiabHQ team have been adding new features and making the app even better.

Over 450 parents, carers & kids are now using the app to see their appointments and health information, to find resources and access support.

What are the benefits of the DiabHQ app?

Feedback we have received includes comments like these:

"I just loaded the DiabHQ app and I am so impressed. It has heaps of information about my daughter’s health."

"Whoever thought of this app should be congratulated. It’s amazing!! Thank you so much."

Other families say there are lots of benefits to using the DiabHQ app, including:

  • Finding out when your next appointments are as soon as they’re booked
  • Being able to quickly check health data when you’re at a health appointment like the dentist
  • The ability to access resources easily on your mobile device whenever you need them - like the chapters from the T1D folder

The DiabHQ app also allows you to log triage requests, search for support and resources, save important documents and information – like your management plans, find contact numbers for the clinic team and technology companies, and more!

How can I be involved in DiabHQ?

We’re looking for some parents and teens to join the DiabHQ Consumer Reference Group, to guide ongoing development of the DiabHQ platform!

If you’re interested in helping to shape the future of diabetes management, we’d love to hear from you – please email our Community Involvement Coordinator - Kathryn.Stewart@thekids.org.au.
